Three decades in the field
Udeni Basnayake spent over 30 years as a government superintendent managing coconut estates across Sri Lanka. During that time he dealt with every problem a coconut tree can have — disease, poor yield, ageing palms, labour issues, and the practical economics of running a productive estate.
After retiring, he didn't stop. He started consulting directly for estate owners who needed someone who could walk onto their land, look at the trees, and tell them exactly what to do. No theory. No long reports. Just clear, practical advice from someone who has done it for decades.
Today, UB Agro manages coconut estates and commercial crops — including mango, chilli, pepper, and pineapple projects — and works with owners in Sri Lanka and abroad who want someone they can trust on the ground.
